Reconnecting, making time and benevolence...
My friends often ask me “how do you have time to do it all?” Maybe the better question is “why?”
Well here I am at the ASHA Convention in LA, stimulating brain cells, reconnecting with friends and colleagues and also meeting new ones. I also take the time to LISTEN. Last night, my friend and I were talking about our health, how we start feeling the effects of treating our bodies in certain ways all these years. He confided in me that he had “stomach problems” after taking certain medicines which eventually led to a “fear” in eating. Lord we should never fear eating! It’s so vital for us to enjoy the nutrition we put in our bodies. Connecting with his need, of course I shared how a healthy plant-based solution helped me reach my health goals and how it can help him too. He asked for more info and I sent him a link to read before he joins my health challenge.
Then I think of friends who tell me, “I don’t have time” for this business or “I don’t want to sell anything.” Many if these friends have a fear of exploring something new.
Last night is a great example of how I “work” my business. I “make time” to connect with my friends and if the conversation happens to turn to a solution for their health goals, I invite them to try it. That’s it. Yes, at some point a “sale” happens when I help them place an order. But I find more satisfaction from actually helping a friend make healthy choices and connecting with that friend on a different level. Then of course, the reward for this connection is that extra stream of income that helps my growing family.
We all make choices in life that we hope will guide us to a desired result. We all choose where to invest our energy so we can live healthier lives and raise our families. My hope is that the choices I’ve made not only benefit me, but also bring many benefits to the people that put their trust in me.
